I started training with weights back in 1997 when I was a sophomore in high school to prepare myself for the ranks of high school football. I had played football since I was in third grade but never stepped into a weight room until I was in high school. Little did I know the moment I walked into the weight room it would lead me to where I am today. Growing up I was the typical Italian kid, not fat, but chunky, had big Italian legs and calves, and was very active. I competed in football, baseball, track, basketball, and I was a cheerleader as well senior year in high school, so you can say I was always doing something. I knew working out was for me because growing up I knew I was never going to be the biggest kid in anything I did, but I knew there was a way I could make up for that, I could be the strongest and toughest s.o.b. I could. So entering high school it was mandatory that I started to work out, not so much freshman year but sophomore year being a varsity player you had to workout every other day after practice, I found that I was the first guy in the gym and always the last to leave. I loved every moment of it and the stronger I got in the gym, the more intense I was on the field and it showed as being only 160lbs graduating as a senior and being all conference for offense as I was the starting running back, and starting middle linebacker. I graduated high school at 160lbs benching 315, power cleaning 225, dead lifting 365, and running a 4.6 40 yard dash. But although I was strong I wanted something more I wanted the body to prove to myself that the weights in the gym showed outside also. I got recruited to play at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT, in 2000. As a freshman in camp I had injured my planter fascia in both my feet from being so flat footed so I was red shirted all year, for me all that meant was more time in the gym. In a way I was happy because I could workout but I knew football was soon going to end for me after college there was no way being my size I could go any farther. Training my ass off, eating right, and doing the right thing I came back the following year at almost 180lbs, and was moved from tail back to corner back, and played that position for the next three years. I hated that position with a passion, I was 5'6 going against receivers that were 6 foot, not an easy task but I made do and played until I graduated in 2005. The difference in me was that after every practice, I would go to my locker drink a gatorade, eat a myoplex bar and go train, and I mean train as a body builder. 
I had my own set schedule that I always had to sneak around the coaches because they knew I did a show in 2003 and hawked me ever since because they didn't like how I trained. But beginning of Senior year I had the highest lift total on the team being 190lbs I benched 385, squatted 550 (ass to floor), and power cleaned 315. So after that I never got bothered again. In the summer of 2003 I decided I wanted to compete, I got some help from a local guy who had won Mr. North NJ and I competed in the 2003 WV State championships where I took 1st in mw novice, novice overall, and 1st mw men's open. I drove to that show by myself with my cousin Glenn, and that was it. From then I went on to compete in 7 more shows and eventually turning pro at the 2008 NPC Nationals this past year as a middle weight. I hope to eventually compete in the 202 class and do some damage there, only time will tell what my future in this sport holds. "I have used PRO TAN, every show since 2003, I love it.
